The Board of Trustees is excited to welcome you to the 55th Annual Convention of the Philippine Pediatric Society on April 8-11, 2018 with the theme “The N.E.E.D. to Change: New, Evolving, Emerging Directions in Pediatrics” at the Philippine International Convention Center, Manila.

The Philippine Pediatric Society is committed to foster and maintain a high plane of professional skill in the practice of Pediatrics in the Philippines and the Annual Convention is the centerpiece of our Continuing Professional Development program. In this year’s Convention, the participants will enjoy a carefully prepared and excellent Scientific Program. Dr. Ma. Noemi V. Tanglao – Salazar, the Convention’s Over-all Chair, and her Organizing Committee, with the support of the University of Santo Tomas, have invited exemplary speakers on new and emerging health conditions and concerns that children, their parents and pediatricians are currently faced with.

We invite you to participate and enjoy the exchange of information, the timely pediatric practice updates, and the opportunity to meet colleagues and develop new and lasting professional relationships.

It is with great pleasure that I invite you to the 55th Annual Convention of the Philippine Pediatric Society to be held on April 8-11, 2018 with the theme “The N.E.E.D. to Change: New, Evolving, Emerging Directions in Pediatrics”.

The Scientific Program Committee has meticulously prepared very relevant topics that all of us involved in the management of pediatric illnesses, can learn from. The topics will include new and emerging children’s diseases as well as visit old ones which may present challenges in diagnosis and management. We have also invited noted speakers who will share with us their expertise and  experiences in the different pediatric disciplines.

The Organizing Committee hopes to see you during next year’s annual convention. Let us continue to enjoy the camaraderie among our peers while updating ourselves with current developments in the field of Pediatrics.

REMINDERS to all delegates

Luncheon Symposium on April 9 and 10, 2018

1. This is a strictly a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE conference to all duly
registered PPS convention attendees.
2. Venues will be open immediately after the plenary sessions end.
3. Signing of attendance and distribution of color coded tickets will
only be done once delegates are properly seated at the assigned venue.
Tickets will also serve as a meal stubs, should the delegate wish to
tranfer to another venue he/she should surrender his/her ticket to the
member of the luncheon sympo committee and fall in line again to
discourage switching of rooms.

ON-SITE REGISTRATION

Step1. Fill up registration form at the filling form station.

Members

1. Pay annual dues at the PPS secretariat if not yet paid.
2. Present annual due receipt and duly accomplished registration form to any open ON-SITE REGISTRATION COUNTER and pay the corresponding registration fee.
3. Claim convention kit which includes a blank certificate, souvenir program, book of abstracts, passport and program at a glance.
4. Proceed to RFID counter and present your registration fee and annual dues receipts to enroll the RFID for the convention. Members with no RFID yet can have them printed at this station. No payment is required. Only those who lost their ID’s and those who failed to bring them will be asked to pay P550 at the secretariat for reprinting of RFIDs.
5. After enrolling your RFID , proceed to any self registration kiosks to print your own badge/ID.

Non-members

1. Present duly accomplished registration form to any open ON-SITE REGISTRATION COUNTER.
2. For residents and fellows: Please present certificate of training/employment signed by Department Chair or Training Officer.
3. For government physicians: Please present certificate of employment and/or valid ID.
4. Pay registration fee and claim the convention kit.
5. Those who already have RFIDs have to enroll them at the RFID counter.
6. Those qualified to get an RFID and are first time applicants, please proceed to the Secretariat. Present the endorsement letter from the Department Chair of your training hospital stating that you have completed the pediatric residency training along with the date of completion. Pay the RFID fee P550.00 then present the receipt to the RFID counter for printing and validation.
7. After enrolling your RFID, proceed to any self registration kiosks to print your own badge/ID.

PRE-REGISTERED PPS MEMBER

Present PRC ID or any valid ID, badge/ID and kit retrieval form to any open PRE-REGISTRATION COUNTER for PPS MEMBERS to receive the registration kit which includes a blank convention certificate, souvenir program, book of abstracts, passport and program at a glance.

Notes:

1. The RFID has already been enrolled. In case, you want to verify, you may proceed to the RFID checking kiosk to check the validity of the RFID for the convention. In case of problems with the ID, an RFID personnel is stationed beside the kiosk to assist the member.
2. Badges/IDs and kit retrieval stubs must be claimed at the PPS office for NCR
members and thru the chapters for non-NCR from March 1-28, 2017.

PRE-REGISTERED NON PPS MEMBER

Step 1. Present PRC ID, badge/ID and kit retrieval form to any open PRE-REGISTRATION COUNTER for NON-PPS MEMBERS to receive the registration kit which includes a blank convention certificate, souvenir program, book of abstracts, passport and program at a glance.

Step 2. Those without badges and kit retrieval forms will present an original receipt of registration together with any valid ID (PRC, Driver’s License, SSS ID, and Passport) to claim their convention kits and badges.

Note:

Those qualified to get an RFID and are first time applicants, please proceed to the Secretariat. Present the endorsement letter from the Department Chair of your training hospital stating that you have completed the pediatric residency training along with the date of completion. Pay the RFID fee P550.00 then present the receipt to the RFID counter for printing and validation.

REGISTRATION GUIDELINES

1. All PPS members must pay their annual dues to the PPS Secretariat before they can register for the annual convention.
2. The registration procedure will be posted in the registration area.
3. Separate registration areas will be provided for pre-registered and on-site participants.
4. Residents and fellows in training (except PPS members) must present a written certification from their Department Chair or Training Officer to avail of the discounted fees.
5. Government physicians (except PPS members) must present certificate of employment and/or valid ID to avail of the discounted fees.
6. Registration fee is non-refundable/non-transferrable.
7. Personal checks may be accepted only from PPS members during on-site registration.
8. Convention badge/RFID should be worn/used at all times while inside the convention premises. It will serve as an official entry pass to the convention sessions and commercial exhibit area.
9. Lost badges/ID will be replaced only upon payment of one thousand five hundred pesos (P1500.00). Lost RFIDs will be charged P550 for reprinting.
10. All registrants must check the completeness of the convention enclosures. No complaint of “unclaimed” kit/incomplete kit will be entertained after leaving the counter.
11. All registrants must abide by the rules and regulations of the convention.
12. Children are strictly not allowed inside the convention premises.

The following are REQUIRED documents for registration and the convention proper.

1. PRC card
2. Registration Official receipt
3. Annual Dues Official receipt ( for PPS MEMBERS ONLY)
4. RFID card ( for PPS members AND for non-members who are qualified to have a RFID card )
5. Convention badge and Kit retrieval forms ( FOR PRE-REGISTERED PPS MEMBERS ). These will be ready for personal pick up at the PPS head office for NCR based members and at the Chapter Offices for non-NCR members. Please watch out for announcements at the PPS website and the FB pages for the availability date.

Inability to present these documents may hamper registration and for items 4 and 5, warrant reprinting fees Php 550.00 and Php 1500.00 respectively.

Business meeting will be on April 5, 2017 12:00 – 2:00 pm
RFID system will record attendance to the Business Meeting. Make sure to tap in /tap out for all sessions and for the business meeting.

The RFID card is NOT NEEDED for the Pre-convention sessions slated for April 2, 2017.

Greetings!

The 54th PPS Annual Convention is slated for April 2-5, 2017 at the Philippine International Convention Center with the theme “#PPS@70: A Continuing Commitment to the Filipino Child.”

For this upcoming convention, we would implement and put up self-register kiosks exclusively for pre-registered delegates WITH RFID cards. The RFID cards are exclusively for members (diplomates, fellows, emeritus fellows and active members) of the PPS and for those non-members (pediatric residency training graduates) who will take the written and/or oral PPS board exams. Pediatric residents ongoing residency training are not qualified to get an RFID card.

The RFID cards of those who will avail of them for this upcoming convention will be ready for pick-up for NCR based delegates and delivery to chapter office for those outside NCR, one month prior to the convention.

This registration innovation would entail massive data encoding of all pre-registered delegates with RFID cards hence, please take note of the changes in the deadline dates:
